Pregnancy and Postpartum Mental Health
What therapy can help with: Getting support early can shift things for you, your baby, and your whole family. It can help you feel more like yourself again and ease the guilt and overwhelm that’s been piling up.
Real words from a mom I’ve worked with:
“I feel like I’m failing as a mom. Everyone else seems to be handling it better than me.”
You’re not the only one who feels this way—and you don’t have to keep carrying it alone. When you feel like you’re supposed to do it all, asking for help often gets pushed to the bottom of the list—but reaching out sooner can also support your baby and the people who rely on you. Let’s work together to help you feel more present, more supported, and more like yourself during this important season.
“I don’t feel like myself and I don’t know if this is normal.”
Feeling anxious, low, or overwhelmed during or after pregnancy doesn’t make you a bad mom.
Maybe you’re constantly worried. Maybe you feel numb or detached. Or bonding with your baby hasn’t come as easily as you thought it would. And that guilt — it just won’t let up.
You might feel like you’re supposed to be soaking in every moment … but instead, everything feels heavy. You’re tired. Irritable. Disconnected. And worst of all, you don’t quite feel like you anymore.
These can be signs of something called a Perinatal Mood or Anxiety Disorder (PMAD). These are a common group of emotional and mental health struggles that can happen during pregnancy or after birth. They’re very common and very treatable.
Understanding the Process
Initial Check-In:
We’ll start by talking about how you’ve been feeling mentally, emotionally, and physically. We’ll also review your history so we can understand the full picture and figure out if you’re dealing with a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder.
A Plan That Fits You:
We’ll come up with a personalized plan based on what’s actually going on in your life. I’ll share strategies and supports that can help ease the pressure, quiet the worries, and help you feel more grounded.
Real Tools for Real Life:
In our sessions, we’ll work on simple, practical tools you can use day to day. Especially when things feel overwhelming. You’ll learn how to manage tough moments, reconnect with yourself, and feel more present with your baby.
As you start to feel more like yourself, our work will shift toward helping you stay there. We’ll talk about what’s working, what’s still hard, and how to keep moving forward with confidence. Some people reduce sessions and others keep checking in as needed.
Motherhood can be amazing. It can also be incredibly hard. Therapy gives you space to feel seen, supported, and steady again.
You deserve to feel like your best self.
