Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

  • What happens during the free 15-minute phone call?
We’ll chat briefly about what’s been going on and what you’re hoping to get support with. I’ll let you know if testing or therapy sounds like a good next step. If it’s a fit, I’ll walk you through how it works and what to expect.

What age range do you work with?
I work with adults ages 18 and up.

Do you offer virtual or in-person appointments?
Most sessions happen virtually through a secure Zoom platform. But if you're local to the Hartford, CT area and prefer in-person, let me know. I'm happy to accommodate when possible.

Can we work together if I’m not in Connecticut?
    Probably, yes!
I’m licensed in CT, MA, and NY. I’m also part of PSYPACT, which lets me work with clients in 40+ participating states. If you’re not sure whether your state is included, just ask!

  • What programs do you offer for ADHD?
I offer both individual and group options:

    • Individual ADHD Skills Programs: Choose from a 4-session or 8-session plan. These are one-on-one and tailored to your goals. Pricing: $850 (4 sessions), $1600 (8 sessions). FSA/HSA accepted.

    • ADHD Skills Group: This is an 8-week virtual group where you'll learn skills alongside others who get what you're going through. Cost: $520.

Do you offer support for pregnancy or postpartum concerns?
Yes. I offer a 6-session individual therapy program focused on perinatal mental health. It includes secure messaging between sessions and costs $1125. FSA/HSA accepted and payment plans are available.

    Are these programs virtual?
Yes, all programs are currently held online using a secure Zoom platform.

  • What can I expect from my first therapy session?
We’ll get to know each other and talk about what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. We’ll also begin sketching out a plan for your goals. It’s a collaborative, judgment-free space where we can focus on what’s most important to you.

What are the benefits of neuropsychological testing?
Testing helps clarify what’s really going on, whether it’s attention, memory, mood, or something else. It gives us a clear picture of your strengths and challenges and helps guide next steps for care or support.

What happens during a testing session?
In-person or online, you’ll complete a series of tasks that measure how your brain is working. This might include memory games, problem-solving, or focused tasks. It’s not a test you “pass” or “fail.” It’s about understanding how you think and process information. We take breaks as needed and I’ll guide you through the whole thing.

  • Will my insurance cover this?
I’m currently in-network with Medicare Part B for testing services. For all other services, I’m out-of-network. This allows me to provide high-quality care without restrictions or required diagnoses. It also helps protect your privacy.

I’m happy to submit paperwork to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients are able to get some money back this way, depending on their plan.

How much does it cost—and what’s included?

    • Testing: $1000–$3000 depending on complexity. You’ll get a Good Faith Estimate before we begin.

    • Therapy: $250 (60 minutes) or $215 (45 minutes).

Can I use HSA or FSA cards?
    Yes, for all eligible services.

Can we work out a payment plan?
Yes. Let me know what you need and we’ll come up with a plan that works.

How do I check my out-of-network benefits?
Call your insurance provider and ask:

    1. Do I have out-of-network benefits for behavioral health?

    2. Is there a deductible? Has it been met?

    3. What percentage of the fee is reimbursable?

Billing codes that might come up:

    • 90791 (Initial Diagnostic Interview)

    • 90837 (60-min therapy)

    • 90834 (45-min therapy)

    • 96136, 96137, 96130, 96131, 96132, 96133 (Testing codes)

If you're not sure how to ask, I’m happy to help guide you through it.

  • How do I access my telehealth sessions?
You’ll receive a Zoom link for my private meeting room which you can use for all sessions. Just find a quiet, comfortable spot to sit and click the link when it’s time to meet.

    Anything special for Medicare clients?
